Margaret River January

January 15 – 18, 2014

Join Tamara Yoga teacher, Carol Hicks for a retreat that will focus on an exploration of prana. Prana is the Sanskrit word for life-force. We all like the idea of having lots of energy but sometimes feel tired or lacking in energy. This retreat offers you the opportunity to recharge, renew and replenish your energy so that you feel vibrantly healthy and clear in mind, body and soul. Allow the teachings of pranayama, asana and meditation to deepen your understanding of the more subtle realm of prana and how it flows through the nadis or energy channels in the body.

This yoga retreat that will help you feel whole, in the true sense of the original meaning of the word whole; whole as in hale- healthy, holy as in sacred and whole as in not fragmented.

Make your own long weekend. Arrive Thursday late afternoon/evening and leave after breakfast on Sunday.  Each day there will be morning and afternoon yoga classes. Making the time for uninterrupted practice in this way has far reaching benefits that can make a difference to your whole year.

Carol is a successful graduate of both the two-year Tamara Yoga Teacher Training and Postgraduate Teacher Training. Carol began her practice of yoga in London 18 years ago and has been part of Tamara Yoga since 2007. While enjoying the physical challenges of asana, Carol is particularly drawn to the benefits of pranayama, meditation and the teachings of yogic philosophy, which she uses as inspiration for her classes.

I really enjoy Carol’s classes. I feel like I’ve had a great work out but am so relaxed at the end it can be a struggle to get off the mat! I see many patients with anxiety and “stress” and always recommend yoga to them. The breath work involved helps to calm them and the philosophy of yoga reminds them to stop and find inner serenity… Patients with upper or lower back pain find it very helpful too. I love yoga. I think it’s a great antidote to modern life.” – Doctor Rachel Horncastle.
