Yoga Nidra & Restorative Workshop for Yoga Teachers – FULLY BOOKED
April 1st 11:30 – 2:30am
Held at Tamara Yoga Claremont
This is a workshop for yoga teachers to experience Yoga Nidra practice and learn some techniques to incorporate Restorative Yoga into their classes. In this three-hour workshop, there will be an hour of lecture on the benefits of Restorative Yoga and how to incorporate elements of it into an Asana class and a basic Yoga Nidra technique. Then you will experience a two-hour class incorporating Asana, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra, modelled after Mona Anand’s Restorative / Yoga Nidra Workshop Series.
In doing Restorative Yoga, resting poses, supported by pillows and blankets that allow every part of the body to be held, it opens the energetic and subtle body, the chakras and the nadis, through which we discover a greater connection with ourselves and the world. Yoga Nidra is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world by following a guided meditation. Yoga Nidra can be used to induce sleep and release tension from the unconscious and subconscious mind. This workshop will be a combination of Lecture, Question & Answer, Asana, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. It is based upon Mona Anand’s ISHTA Yoga Nidra Technique and the Anand Menza Restorative Approach.
Rebecca is an ISHTA senior teacher and has been teaching in New York City since 2011 and is currently travelling and teaching around the world. She is certified in Mona Anand’s ISHTA Yoga Nidra and Anand Menza Restorative Level 1 & 2. She has assisted Yogiraj Mona Anand and Senior ISHTA teacher Gina Menza in all of their trainings at ISHTA in New York for four years. She was also Mona’s assistant in all her Restorative / Yoga Nidra Workshops for many years.
